Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. Physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners, so you can book an assessment directly. If your treatment is funded through private medical insurance, your insurer may ask for a GP referral first — please check with them before booking.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Comfortable clothing that allows the affected area to be examined and moved is helpful. Please bring any relevant scan reports, operation notes or a list of current medication.
How long will each appointment last?
An initial assessment is 60 minutes so there is time to examine thoroughly and agree a plan. Follow-up sessions are usually 45 minutes.
Are you registered with professional bodies?
Yes. The practice is run by a physiotherapist who is chartered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Can I claim on private medical insurance?
Many private medical insurers cover physiotherapy. Please confirm your cover and any authorisation requirements with your insurer before your appointment, and bring your policy and authorisation details with you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full, as the time cannot usually be reallocated. We understand that circumstances change — please get in touch as early as you can.
